How to limit car emissions
Some consumers today are more concerned than ever about the depleting state of the environment and are showing that concern through both everyday actions to lead a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle and through activism.
One easy way to watch your carbon output and to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle is to drive less, or at least drive a vehicle that emits fewer emissions such as a hybrid or diesel model. How to limit car emissions is a hot topic these days due to the rising concern about the state of the environment. There are a few ways you can help the Earth by limiting your car emissions.
Emissions standards were set to establish a limit to the amount of pollutants that can be released into the environment, specifically through automobiles and other power vehicles such as mopeds, motorcycles, etc.
One way to limit your vehicle’s emissions is to make sure your vehicle not only has a catalytic converter, but that it is in tip-top shape. This is the piece of your vehicle that monitors your vehicle’s oxygen oxygen levels and watches if the engine’s computer needs to decrease or increase the amount.
Other easy ways to limit your vehicle’s emissions are to change your air filter regularly, switch to a diesel engine, use gasoline additives or higher-quality gasoline, change engine oil as suggested, watch your tire pressure, and just lessen the amount of driving you do. When you can, take the bus or bike.
Each country has its own emissions standards and ways to meet those standards. For example, in the U.S., some counties require vehicles to register their emissions levels each year at the Department of Motor Vehicles.
