Trick or treat hours Edmonton AB 2014
Year after year, children of all ages, and even some adults, get dressed up on a certain night, peruse the neighborhood for candy then fall into a sugar coma sleep. While some dentists and doctors may disagree, we think there’s nothing wrong with one night of gluttony, within reason. It’s what part of being a kid is, right? Eating so much candy on Halloween that you nearly get sick?
Then when you graduate and are on the other side of the coin, going trick-or-treating as a parent of a child, the script fips and you end up “checking” through all of your child’s candy to make sure it is all “safe.” (Whether that Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup was already opened is really not relevant…)
The first step to having a successful Halloween is to know when trick or treat hours Edmonton AB 2014 are! They vary by neighborhood, but typically children are encouraged to go trick-or-treating between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31.
This year, children and adults can celebrate Halloween actually on the date, rather than on a date around Halloween because it falls on a Friday.
Because Halloween actually falls on a Friday this year, it’s even more important to be aware of your surroundings and take precautions. Some helpful tips for parents accompanying their children trick-or-treating are to bring a few flashlights, have and review a safety plan and a meeting place if you were to for some reason get separated, make sure children are dressed for the weather, always check their candy, and if possible, incorporate some sort of bright colored clothing in their costume or reflective strips to make them easier to spot by motorists.
Halloween is followed by All Saint’s Day on Nov. 1, 2014 and All Soul’s Day on Nov. 2, 2014.
What will you be doing for Halloween? Do you plan to dress up and go out? We’d love to see your pictures and hear your stories! Post them below!
