How to sync UConnect
Technology is a great thing. It’s led us humans to be able to tackle great feats we never thought possible. For example, chatting with someone face-to-face in real time who is literally across an ocean. Or getting directions right on our telephone. Or for that matter, having a portable phone at all.
The automotive industry is also utilizing a number of advanced technology devices in the manufacturing and design of each new vehicle that is produced. One of the most common advancements is vehicles including an infotainment system, which is an advanced technology system that syncs with your cell phone or other mobile device and can provide information such as navigation, real-time traffic updates, weather alerts, play music, place and answer phone calls, send texts and more, all with either using just your voice or the touch of a finger.
It’s incredible the advancements that have come into play in the automotive industry, but with those advancements sometimes comes confusion. We’ve had a number of you asking how to sync UConnect, and we wanted to take this time for How-To Thursday to address that issue, because UConnect is probably one of the coolest things around since sliced bread. OK, maybe even cooler than that if you can believe it.
The first step in how to use UConnect is making sure you have a compatible device. Any smartphone today typically will be compatible with the UConnect system, as will any recent Wi-Fi capable device. The trick is to sync your smartphone with the UConnect system.
To do this, you must turn your Bluetooth compatibility “on” on your smartphone so the system in the vehicle can recognize the device.
From there, it’s pretty simple to pair your phone with the UConnect system in any Chrysler, Dodge, Ram or Jeep vehicle. Just follow the directions the system gives you, as it will walk you through how to pair your phone. You will likely need to enter a PIN number that is displayed on the infotainment system’s screen into your phone, but other than that, there is little that you need to do.
In terms of how to use UConnect, there are a number of voice commands and other commands you can use on the steering wheel such as navigation, call someone, play music and more.
Of course, if you have issues we’re happy to help you out in our service department!
