Chrysler is at it again – disrupting the marketplace with its innovative disposition. One of the latest out of Fiat-Chrysler is an exciting new concept car geared toward the younger generations. It’s purely electric, which will be quite the feat, and it’s designed with the future of millennials in mind; it’s meant for new and growing families, from couples, to families with a couple of kids. Just as millennials and their vision are the future, it also looks like this newcomer will also be the future of transportation design. Here’s what we know already and why we should all be excited about the Chrysler Portal:
comfort and convenience, unparalleled
Interior space is generally a theme with vehicles without gas engines, and one look inside the new Portal is all you’ll need to get excited about all the possibilities. And after you realize the seating is attached to a track system embedded into the floor, and that you can move, fold or remove the seats as you please, then you’ll see just how much available space there is in the Portal. And then as you step inside, you’re transported into another dimension where technology is abound, like a plethora of ride-hailing, car-sharing and delivery-service applications. This is the ultimate vehicle for busy city life and even business.
The Chrysler Portal is looking to be one of the most versatile vehicles, well, ever.
more about the tech…
Drivers and passengers can connect to the Portal with their smartphones, cameras, computers–whatever tech you carry on you. And what would you say if we told you the Portal was able to recognize you, personally? It can, really. Facial recognition will detect just who is inside the vehicle and deliver custom, preferred settings like lighting, vehicle temperature, music, and more.
And we all know autonomous driving is the future, right? The Portal has Level 3 autonomous driving that allows drivers to take full control of the otherwise fully automated driving capability. On top of that, the V2X communications technology uses sensors to talk with public infrastructure, Internet, and other vehicles, connecting you to drivers and the rest of the world around you.
The most modern lithium-ion technology is powering this Chrysler, with an impressive 100-kilowatt-hours of juice taking the vehicle over 400 kms before needing a charge. As as for charging time, it’s about 20 minutes until you’ll be able to drive 200 kms. Wow. Impressive numbers.
we’ll keep you up to date
It’s a concept, but that doesn’t mean that’s all it is right now–the Chrysler Portal is absolutely in development and it’s just a matter of time. We expect more details about this Chrysler innovation sooner than later, and we’ll be sure to let you know about what to expect and when. If you’re as curious as we are, then we welcome you to contact us to learn more about when the Portal might be coming or to get on our mailing list about it.
