Select from Auto, Sport, Snow, or Sand/Mud mode by turning a dial, or choose Rock mode in the Trailhawk for more off-road traction.
Engines
Built with aggressive off-roading capabilities and refined for the everyday drive, the 2021 Jeep Cherokee separates itself from the typical compact crossover with class-leading performance capabilities and efficiency. RAM has decided that three powertrains are better than one, and for this reason, engine options are abundant and suitable for every need. We start off with the standard 2.4-litre Tigershark MultiAir inline-four, which generates 180-horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. Let's move up to the available 3.2-litre Pentastar Variable Valve Timing (VVT) V6, pushing 271-horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque. We finish off with the fun and lightweight 2.0L DOHC I-4 DI turbocharged engine, which produces 270-horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque thanks to the fast-spinning turbo. All engines are supported by a smooth-shifting, performance-oriented, and economy-minded, 9-speed automatic transmission.
The Jeep Cherokee commands respect on and off-road and provides a comfortable ride, outstanding handling, and a suspension that absorbs all the unevenness on any terrain.
