It’s October. It’s a great time of the year in Canada. Fall, my personal favorite season, has dressed our City in a gorgeous mix of yellows, oranges, and browns. The Edmonton River Valley is vibrant in its coloring, and it brings out the best of nature. The weather has cooled off, which isn’t exactly ideal, but that doesn’t stop fall from being the wonderful season that it is. Thanksgiving is this weekend, and Halloween is just around the corner. But there’s another big part of October, one that is often forgotten by Canadians. It’s baseball playoffs season, Baby! If we’re weren’t around last season for the incredible hype (and tragic World Series game 6 loss) of the Blue Jays season, then you most likely had your head buried deep down in the dirt.
But that hype has returned, and the Blue Jays started off their series against the Texas Rangers with a huge 10-1 win at the Skydome. To help celebrate another playoff berth, and a possible 2-0 Start, the Jays are up 5-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning (no whammies!), here are five cars that perfectly personify Blue Jays players.
5 Toronto Blue Jays players as Great West Chrysler vehicles:
Edwin Encarnacion – 2016 Grand Cherokee
Like the Grand Cherokee, Edwin Encarnacion is an elite part of the team. He offers power, and as a first baseman, he’s someone you have to be able to count on. These traits align perfectly with that of the Grand Cherokee. Like Edwin, the Grand Cherokee has a sort of refined elegance to it that makes it inherently likeable even upon first glance.
Troy Tulowitzki– 2016 Jeep Wrangler
The Shortstop position is the backbone of a ball club’s defence, much like the Jeep Wrangler is the backbone of that Jeep vehicle roster. It’s a capable, adaptable, and agile vehicle, characteristics that are perfect for a Shortstop. The Wrangler has been known to roam, perfectly willing to go into uncharted territory in order to get the job done. If that doesn’t describe Tulo to a tee…
Josh Donaldson – 2016 Ram 1500
Tough, strong, reliable. There’s a reason why, like the RAM 1500, Donaldson is one of the most popular Blue Jays players on the roster. It’s got power, and capability, and it’s got a look that is instantly identifiable. Now, the RAM 1500 may not have Lebron’s cleats on its feet, but it’s got a set of gorgeous wheels, which really are the Lebron’s of the auto industry.
Jose Bautista – 2016 Dodge Hellcat
The flashiest player on the Jays’ Roster rightfully earns the moniker belonging to the flashiest vehicle apart of the Great West Chrysler vehicle slate. It’s got pure, animalistic RAW power. It’s the type of vehicle that always swings for the fences. Plus, if there was ever a vehicle that could be personified with the Joey Bats “Bat Flip” (pictured), it’s the Dodge Hellcat.
J.A. Happ – 2016 Chrysler 300
Last, but certainly not least, is the starting pitcher for the Jays. I picked the 300, which is Chrysler’s take on the Luxury sedan, because Pitchers, even ones as great as Happ, are luxury models themselves. They don’t play the entire game like the other positions, but they are still one of, if not the most valuable position on the field. The 300 uses a combination of precision and power under the hood, combined with efficiency, to throw a curve ball into the luxury sedan vehicle class.
