The Rugged jeep® wrangler in edmonton, ab
The Jeep® Wrangler is synonymous with toughness. The Wrangler’s roots are embedded in its ability to conquer challenging terrain, retell its wartime history, and emulate its classic look. From top to bottom, the Wrangler’s range of compact and mid-size models (Wrangler Unlimited and Wrangler 4-door JL) are dominating off-road forces. While still a rugged classic from Jeep®, the 2018 Wrangler comes fully redesigned to give drivers the day-to-day utility they demand, backed by the ultimate performance. Starting at $34,195, the new 2018 Wrangler is a superior choice for the seasoned adventurer.
There’s nothing quite like a Jeep®, and to prove it we’ve put the Wrangler up against the Toyota 4Runner to see how the two compare.
The 2018 Wrangler JL – Updating a classic
Fully redesigned for 2018, the Wrangler JL has numerous updates inside and out. The premium interior experience is marked by precision craftsmanship and the high-quality materials found throughout the Wrangler cabin. The all-new Uconnect multimedia centres include full-colour displays with pinch-and-zoom capability and come available with a 5-,7-, or 8.4-inch touchscreen, plus integrated smartphone capability with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The JL’s all-new exterior features a lowered beltline, larger windows, and redesigned 7-slot grille, while the iconic folding windshield has also been redesigned for easier use and improved aerodynamics. Adventurers now have the option of the Sky One-Touch Power Top, the first-ever available power convertible top on a Wrangler.
New safety features include Blind-Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross-Path Detection. BSM can alert you with an audible tone and warning light on the side view mirror if there’s a vehicle in your blind spot. Rear Cross-Path Detection aids in parking the JL, alerting the driver of vehicles or pedestrians approaching from either side.
Beneath the hood, the 2018 Wrangler is more capable than ever. The 2018 Wrangler offers 2 excellent powertrain options, the standard 3.6L Pentastar V6 which delivers Best-in-Class 285 hp, and the available all-new 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with eTorque technology and a new 8-speed automatic transmission. The new Selec-Trac 4×4 system automatically switches from 4×2 to 4×4 when conditions dictate and comes available on every trim.
Tested and True, the 2018 Wrangler JK
Be aware that two Wrangler models are on sale for 2018. The all-new JL is being sold alongside the outgoing third-generation JK Model (2006-2018). The Wrangler JK still has the familiar 285-hp 3.6L V6 and is equipped with removable doors, a removable roof, and a fold-down windshield, and still maintains the Wrangler’s classic design.
