At the heart of the TRX suspension system is the use of legendary Bilstein Shocks that are the vehicle's backbone. Bilstein Shocks
2021 RAM TRX hailed as the new extreme machine built for both on/off-road needs to be able to provide optional body control and ride refinement on any terrain. The new 2.5-inch Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks are specially designed and tuned to demonstrate optimum balance between on-road handling and class-leading off-road capability. Ride comfort, body-roll control and handling are tremendously improved thanks to the RAM Active Terrain Dynamics Suspension system. Bilstein has developed a proprietary algorithm, which monitors vehicle sensors and adapts to speed, steering angle, throttle position and brake to accommodate the ultimate performance needs of the 2021 RAM TRX.
Dual Electronic Proportional Valves are present to continuously adjust damping forces, providing precision and independently controlling the compression and then the rebound effect of the shocks. During extreme off/on-road conditions, Bilstein has coupled the dampeners with a nitrogen-charged remote reservoir that uses a hot-formed, zero-leak tube closure for maximum durability. For long-lasting performance and durability in all weather and terrain conditions, the 2021 RAM TRX uses stainless steel braided high-pressure hoses. Braided hoses are stress tested to hold up to 5,800 Pound Force Per Square Inch (PSI) and provide ultimate corrosion resistance. The hydraulic cushion works in tandem with the Jounce Cut Off and the three zones of progressive bottom-out control to prevent washing out after making a significant jump.
